Maria Haig
Maria Haig is our Account Director, heading up relationships and collaborations with our equestrian industry partners.
Maria brings twenty years of equestrian national governing body experience across British Showjumping and British Eventing where she headed up Communications, Marketing and Sponsorship, and has supported other equestrian businesses as a consultant. Maria represented Great Britain in the Women and International Leadership Programme, covering all sports across Europe.
Before joining equestrian sport, Maria worked in marketing as a Senior Account Director in the outsourced marketing solutions sector and also holds an Applied Social Science Diploma.
About her new role at EQUISS, Maria says:
"Human and equine welfare have always mattered to me. I strongly believe we must do everything we can to support victim–survivors, who are too often unseen and unheard. From personal experience, I understand how victim–survivors can hide their suffering just as effectively as perpetrators conceal their actions. It is only by working collaboratively that we can drive meaningful change; turning the other way is simply not an option.”
