Emily Jones is Head of Safeguarding and Advocacy at EQUISS. Emily brings 15 years of experience advocating for people and challenging harmful cultures.
She spent 12 years working and managing services in the domestic abuse sector – supporting high risk victim–survivors and their children through direct support. During this time, Emily introduced and managed a service working directly with perpetrators challenging cultures and behaviours to people who cause harm.Emily most recently managed an agricultural charity, helping grow and develop its support and advocacy for people within the community, tackling the high suicide rate within the agricultural industry.
As Head of Safeguarding and Advocacy Emily is responsible for ensuring those who ask for help feel heard and supported. As our safeguarding specialist, Emily will oversee our confidential support line and advocacy services for equestrians.
“Everyone has the right to live their life free from abuse. EQUISS is a critical opportunity to support equestrians affected by harmful behaviours, challenge power imbalances, and ensure workers in the industry feel supported. By offering both safeguarding and advocacy, we can help more equestrians feel safe in the community and enjoy the work and sports they love.”
