Ellie Melvin
Ellie Melvin is Communications and Public Affairs Manager at EQUISS, dedicated to getting our message out to people with power to make change happen.
In the first 5 years of her charity career, Ellie advocated for underserved communities in policy campaigns across health, social care, violence prevention, and human rights. Ellie frequently represented charities in key conversations with government officials, using evidence to drive improvements in the lives of women and children.
At EQUISS, Ellie is responsible for building messages, policy positions, and a strong evidence base to show that independent oversight is the best way to protect the equestrian community. She will also harness the power of the media to tell authentic and dignified stories about people with lived experience.
"EQUISS is truly unique. We have an opportunity to make a lasting difference and shift the power imbalance away from vested interests and towards the wellbeing of people and animals. This movement is about protecting the future of equestrian sport and industry, so it is safe and rewarding for all involved. I have every belief that good communications, strong evidence, and political momentum will get us there."
