Across the equestrian world, more and more people are acknowledging what many have known for some time - that abuse and misconduct have too often been handled inconsistently and without enough transparency.
For years, equestrians have been left searching for clearer processes, stronger accountability and somewhere to turn for support. In communities built on trust and reputation, speaking up can feel difficult - and it’s not always clear where concerns will lead. The time for change is now.
That’s why EQUISS exists.
What we do
EQUISS leads the way for integrity and compassion in the equestrian world.
We support individuals affected by abuse and misconduct through confidential support and casework. We work with organisations to strengthen safeguarding, governance and welfare through training and EQUISS accreditation.
And we drive systemic reform through evidence-led campaigning that challenges harmful practice and calls for higher standards across the sector.

Why trust us?
Our independence is fundamental. We are independent of governing bodies and commercial interests, allowing us to act without influence.
We strengthen safeguarding, standards, and accountability across the sector by providing confidential support centred around the needs of victim-survivors, specialist training and delivering evidence-led campaigns.
The welfare of people and horses is at the heart of every decision we make.
Our vision
A renewed equestrian world where power is accountable, safeguarding and welfare are prioritised and non-negotiable, and every athlete, worker and child is safe from abuse and misconduct.
