Fundraising Ideas

Fundraising
You don't need to run a marathon or organise a huge event to make a difference.

Whether you raise £20 or £2,000, every pound helps EQUISS provide independent support, challenge harmful behaviours and create a safer equestrian community.

There are countless ways to support EQUISS, either on your own or by getting your friends and family involved.  Here’s some ideas to get you started.

Give yourself a challenge

#EyesUp Ride Together: Organise or attend a fun ride and encourage sponsorship while raising awareness of safer equestrian environments

Ride for Respect: A sponsored ride celebrating respect, inclusion and safer sport.

Sponsored Ride: Set yourself a goal over a week, month or season and ask friends to sponsor your challenge.

Charity Show : Ask your local riding club or show centre run a Charity Show where fundraising is made on behalf of EQUISS. Offer rosettes and prizes donated by local businesses or refreshments to make it an event to attract entries to assist with the fundraising.

Relay or Team Long Distance Ride: Plan a long distance sponsored ride with stop overs where both yourself and your horse can stay overnight and fundraise for each mile covered.

At the yard

Mucking-out : Offer a mucking-out service for a day or longer at your yard  in exchange for a donation to EQUISS. It's a simple way to raise funds while giving fellow liveries a helping hand.

Tip for Tack: Gather a team of volunteers to clean tack in return for a donation. It's an easy fundraiser that makes a real difference to busy horse owners.

Tack sale: Ask liveries to donate unwanted tack and equipment, with proceeds supporting EQUISS.

Bake sale: Perfect alongside competitions, clinics or pony club activities.

Charity raffle: Ask local businesses to donate prizes and sell raffle tickets throughout the day.

Big ideas

Coffee, cake and conversation: Invite your yard, riding club or friends together for coffee, homemade cake and good conversation, asking guests to make a donation to EQUISS. It's a simple, welcoming way to raise funds while bringing your community together.

Auction of Promises: Instead of auctioning physical prizes, ask supporters and local businesses to donate their skills, experiences or services. From riding lessons and clipping services to restaurant meals, gardening, photography or spa vouchers, every winning bid helps support EQUISS while showcasing the generosity of your community.

Fundraising dinner or ball?: If your local riding club runs an annual Ball or awards presentation dinner ask if EQUISS can be their fundraising charity for the evening.  Boost the fundraising with a raffle, silent or live auction or just a percentage of ticket sales being donated.

Bring your local equestrian community together for an unforgettable evening of fundraising. Sell tickets for a dinner, live music, guest speaker or entertainment, then boost your fundraising with a raffle, silent auction or live auction. Local businesses are often happy to donate prizes or sponsor the event, making it a fantastic opportunity to raise both funds and awareness for EQUISS.

Celebrate a special occasion: Turn a special occasion into an opportunity to support EQUISS. Whether it's your birthday, wedding, anniversary, Christmas or another milestone, ask friends and family to make a donation instead of buying gifts. It's a meaningful way to celebrate while helping create a safer equestrian community.
