I started EQUISS because I love this community. Like so many of us, I've experienced everything that's special about the equestrian world - the friendships, the dedication, the passion and the lifelong connections it creates. But we can't ignore where it needs to do better.

For too long, too many people have experienced bullying, intimidation, abuse, unsafe working environments or situations where their concerns haven't been taken seriously. Too many people have stayed silent because they were afraid of the consequences. Too many harmful behaviours have been accepted simply because 'that's the way it's always been'.

No one should ever feel that someone is too powerful to be challenged or too influential to be held accountable. I believe we can change that.

At EQUISS, we believe everyone has the right to live, work, ride and participate in the equestrian community free from abuse and harm. We believe everyone deserves to be listened to, supported and treated with dignity and respect. We believe safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and that real change happens when people feel confident to speak up without fear.

EQUISS is here to provide independent support for those who need us, challenge harmful cultures that have gone unchecked for too long and push individuals, organisations and the wider industry to raise standards and create lasting change.

Your support allows us to remain independent. And most importantly, it tells every person who has ever felt alone that someone hears them, someone cares and someone is working to make things better.

I truly believe positive change is possible. Not because one organisation can achieve it alone, but because thousands of people decide they will no longer look away.
